BAS Property Consultants were instructed as lead Project Managers and Contract Administrators for Phase 1 (12,000 sqm) of the main factory roof replacement works, which were completed in April 2015. Following the success of Phase 1, BAS were retained as lead Project Managers for Phase 2, which was completed in June 2016. The main factory facility, totalling approximately 22,500 sqm, had been developed in phases between the late 1950s and 1970s. Although generally consistent in its north-light, portal-framed construction, the building comprised a number of variations in technical detailing. BAS were initially instructed to undertake a feasibility assessment and produce a report outlining potential solutions for replacing the expired roof covering. Several options were considered, and a final solution was developed, with tender documentation prepared by BAS to allow the client to proceed with the works efficiently and effectively.
