BAS were appointed from the outset by Clydesdale Group Limited to create a new high quality modern home, leading directly to the beach in Wooton Bridge, Isle of Wight. In a stunning but challenging existing setting, on a steeply banked site, the house was designed as a pair of neat box forms, clad in natural timber, stepping down the site through the site to maximise views, and terraces to frame and enjoy the sea views. The now complete house provides 4 bedrooms, an open plan main living space, boat storage and a private Pier and Jetty. The five storey (including basement) period property is located in a terrace and heavily sub-divided internally on each floor, which presented a challenge to record critical dimensions to prepare our assessment. The accuracy of our reinstatement value was accepted by Scrivens insurers.
